Abstract

Investment is an activity carried out by investing capital, which is expected to provide a return for investors. Investment itself plays a role that can be said to be very important for the local community. This is because, in practice, investment itself can have a significant impact on the lives of local communities. However, investment activities certainly do not only have positive impacts, but can also have negative impacts. In an effort to reduce the negative impacts that investment activities can have, regulations are needed that require companies to contribute to the development of local communities. Community development is an effort to improve the quality of life of communities living in areas where investors have invested capital, so that local communities can catch up in various aspects of life. This paper uses the normative legal research method, which uses literature as the source of data for this journal article. Based on the results of the service activities carried out, it is known that knowledge about the legal basis related to the obligations of companies investing in local community empowerment in the good knowledge category increased by 20%. In the sufficient knowledge category, there was an increase of 2%. Meanwhile, in the poor knowledge category, there was a decrease of 22%. This shows an increase in participants' knowledge with an average score from 67 to 94.5, or an increase of 40%
