This community service was carried out in Beran Village, Ngawi District, with the aim of building the character of the nation's children through a contextual literacy movement based on local potential. The method used is the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach by involving elementary school children, teachers, parents, and the community as active partners in an interactive and participatory literacy process. These activities include counseling, reading together, local storytelling, creative writing, and strengthening character values such as responsibility, empathy, and cooperation. The results of the community service showed a significant increase in children's basic literacy skills and character values, with a positive correlation between literacy involvement and character development. In conclusion, literacy based on local culture and community participation is effective in building character while increasing children's literacy in Beran Village. The contribution of this community service is the creation of a character strengthening model through literacy that can be replicated in other villages as a strategy for developing human resources with character and competitiveness.
