Pengaruh Perubahan Tata Letak Lantai Produksi Terhadap Penurunan Biaya Perpindahan Material Studi Kasus Di PT. Atmaja Jaya Ceper Klaten

Abstract

Layout is one of the key decisions that determine the long-term efficiency of production floor operations. An effective layout can help an organization achieve a strategy that supports differentiation, low costs, or rapid response. PT. Atmaja Jaya is a company engaged in metal casting production in the Ceper Klaten area. Competition in this industry is intensifying. Therefore, a sound strategy is needed to remain competitive. PT. Atmaja Jaya uses a make-to-order production system, which involves manufacturing various types of products based on customer orders. The chosen strategy is to modify the layout to accommodate the material handling needs of products with the highest production volume, the largest dimensions, and the heaviest weight. The proposed layout changes will be compared with material handling cost calculations before and after the changes. The results of this study show a 13.96% reduction in material handling costs.
